15/12 – Hervé Rigneault : Multiphoton imaging endoscopy

Tuesday, 15 Dec 2020, 10h30 – Zoom webinar – Ask link to a SPPIN member.

Hervé Rigneault – Institut Fresnel, Marseille

In this talk I will present our recent advances to build flexible probes that are able to perform 2-photon fluorescence, second-harmonic generation (SHG) and coherent Raman imaging. The first technology is a 2-mm diameter imaging probe that uses hollow core fibers to image large field of views >400 μm 2 at a frame rate of 10 images/s. The second technology I will talk a bout is a much smaller, 300-μm diameter endoscope, which reduces to the size of the fiber itself. It uses a multicore fiber and coherent beam combined to perform 2-photon excitation fluorescence imaging. I will present and discuss our first attempts to implement these technologies in neurosciences to image the neuron network activity in living mice.
